The SG Standard's bound rosewood fretboard is Plek'd for flawless fretwork, so you can blaze through solos at lightning speed. A 1.695"-wide nut and 24.75" scale length give strings ample room to vibrate, while the fretboard's 12" radius and medium-jumbo frets make chord shapes and string bends a breeze.

At the heart of the SG Standard's sustain and resonance is its solid mahogany body and long-tenon 19th-fret neck joint. This construction is lighter than a carved maple top but provides exceptional tonal qualities. A rounded-profile mahogany neck also contributes to the guitar's playable feel and warm, balanced tone. With high-quality components like an aluminum Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuners with keystone buttons, the SG Standard stays in tune through the most intense performances.

The SG Standard is loaded with 490R and 490T Alnico II humbucking pickups modeled after Gibson's original PAFs. These pickups deliver a perfect blend of warmth, clarity and articulation.
