TOWN CRAFT
Launched in 1927, TOWN CRAFT is one of JC Penney’s most iconic in-house brands, standing alongside BIC MAC and PAY-DAY. Drawing inspiration from vintage garments of the 1950s to 1970s, the brand continues to create comfortable, well-crafted clothing adapted for modern life.





The jacket is made from soft TC WEATHER cotton fabric, known for its natural drape and smooth hand feel. The inner lining in a subtle purple tone adds a hint of individuality and contrast.



Filled with lightweight yet highly insulating Thermolite padding, the jacket balances warmth and comfort while maintaining a voluminous silhouette for a well-structured appearance.





A Reimagined Classic
The Derby Jacket first appeared in the 1960s and became a cultural icon through the 1980s, loved by skaters, punks, and rockers along the U.S. West Coast. Despite its name, the term “Derby” doesn’t refer to equestrian wear, but rather to the original “Derby of San Francisco” brand that inspired this style.





Vintage Details, Modern Refinement
The ribbed collar is designed with a moderate height, while the label recreates the look of 1960s originals. The signature cut of the shoulder panels has been refined to create a cleaner, more streamlined silhouette.



It features dual hand pockets on both sides along with an interior pocket. The side pockets are double-layered, allowing for convenient organization and storage versatility.





The ribbed cuffs feature a unique gradation design that transitions from wide to narrow ribbing. Each rib section is crafted on dedicated knitting machines, showcasing TOWN CRAFT’s attention to detail.



The front zipper is made by IDEAL, a company known for supplying zippers to the U.S. military. The leather pull tab and metal snap buttons at the top and hem add vintage charm and durability.





Relaxed Fit for Modern Wear
Based on the proportions of a vintage XL size, the body length and sleeve length have been carefully adjusted to create a balanced, boxy silhouette. Its versatile fit makes it easy to pair with a variety of layers and styles—perfect for everyday wear with a nod to timeless American heritage.
