Ideally, you want to be able to track a sleep apnea patient's progress over several nights, establish an ideal therapy pressure, and then check back periodically just to make sure therapy is still optimal. In reality, providing that level of service to every patient is neither practical nor equitable. That's where the REMstar Pro with AutoIQ comes in.

AutoIQ technology takes the PR System One REMstar Pro CPAP Machine with C-Flex Plus to a smarter level. This feature offers up to 30 nights of auto adjusting capability, during which time the system works as an Auto CPAP delivering an adaptive pressure on a breath by breath basis. An Auto-Trial phase must be a minimum of 3 nights in length. After an initial Auto-Trial period is set, the system switches to Auto-Check Phase and functions as a CPAP delivering the pressure that the patient was at or below 90% of the time. The Auto-Check Phase continuously verifies pressure requirements and makes adjustments after every 30 hours of use providing the user with more effective pressure levels over time.

AutoIQ Mode.

Ideally, sleep centers or physicians want to be able to track a patient's progress over several nights, establish an ideal therapy pressure, and then check back periodically just to make sure therapy is still optimal. In reality, providing that level of service to every patient is neither practical nor equitable.

This is where the AutoIQ mode comes in. With two distinct phases, Auto-Trial and Auto-Check AutoIQ (available in the REMstar Pro) uses the proven Philips Respironics auto algorithm to track and deliver breath-by-breath therapy and set an ideal fixed pressure.

It then reassesses treatment needs periodically and changes therapy pressures automatically. AutoIQ is one intelligent solution that is always curiously smart and powerfully convenient.

The 30/30 Advantage: Auto-Trial Phase

For periods of three days or more, adding up to a total of 30 days, AutoIQ will provide breath-by-breath therapy while in Auto-Trial phase, using Respironics existing, proven auto algorithm. By learning patients breathing patterns and treatment needs during the trial phase, Auto-Trial is smart enough to then identify an ideal therapy pressure specifically for that patient. The device will automatically deliver the pressure that the patient was at or below 90% of the time or a fixed pressure that has been set by the clinician.

Clinicians can opt to use all 30 Auto-Trial days up front or choose to use fewer trial days and save the balance for a later date if the patient's condition changes. For example, if you choose to use only seven days of the Auto-Trial phase at the start of a patients treatment, you will still have 23 available days remaining should an important change in your patient's condition occur, such as a significant weight loss or gain.

You can do this until you use the entire 30 days of Auto-Trial functionality on that given device. And, Auto-Trial days never expire. With AutoIQ, the control, choice, and flexibility are yours.

Auto-Check Phase

Once the ideal pressure is established, the Auto- Check phase evaluates the patient's events every 30 hours to determine if a pressure change is needed. There may be no need for an adjustment, so the pressure will remain the same. However, if after 30 hours the device determines that the pressure should be adjusted, it will automatically raise or lower the pressure 1 cm at a time, with an upper and lower limit of 3 cm H2O. Of course, the AutoIQ mode conveniently keeps you informed via EncoreAnywhere while supporting the best possible attention and care for patients.
