This is the fifth release of  the limited Artist Edition series, inspired by the Five Elements deeply rooted in Japanese culture — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
With this expression themed around “Water”, the series reaches a quiet culmination, continuing its exploration of whisky character through art.
The element of “Water”, a symbol of life, is interpreted through the distinctive vision of artist Alexander Kori Girard.
Through his recent watercolour approach centred on “stillness and movement”, the gentle flow of water and the quiet pulse of life contained within it are rendered with delicate nuance.
Guided by the theme, the whisky profile draws on Mizunara, an oak said to hold water. 
Whiskies matured in three rare Mizunara oak casks form the key malt, vatted with a diverse selection of unpeated and peated malts. 
Quiet intensity-Elegant aromas of sandalwood and rich, sweet‑tart depth of kumquat jam unfold on the palate. Wisps of peated whisky adds shadow and depth, heightening KANOSUKE’s signature mellow sweetness and lending an oriental character.
In addition, slow dilution gently harmonises the distinctive component of Mizunara oak casks and peated allowing their individuality to soften and integrate.
Deep resonance from Mizunara oak, layered aromas, and an expanding, complex finish — like winter water, quiet yet unfailingly alive, flowing beneath the surface. 
A whisky of depth and poise, to be savoured at leisure.
