General

If the Roland HP-508 PE (Polished Ebony) did not have any controls or LCD display, you'd almost believe it was a real acoustic piano. The polished black finish and relatively high cabinet give it a chic look, while the renowned SuperNATURAL sound generator and the PHA-4 Concert Keyboard allow for a convincing, expressive piano experience. The low-noise PHA-4 keyboard has been designed to register the force of your strokes in a highly accurate way, and it is able to process ultra-quick note repetitions.
The expressive HP-508 PE

One of the key differences between the HP-508 and the HP-506 can be found in the Acoustic Projection system: the HP-506 features 4 separate speakers, while the HP-508 is equipped with six. The Acoustic Projection system has been developed to provide a spacious sound field, similar to that of an acoustic piano. The new HP models are equipped with the Dynamic Harmonic effect, which ensures that your fortissimo passages do not only increase in volume, but have a suitable timbre as well. To top it off, the Individual Note Voicing functionality of the HP-508 enables you to adjust the volume, pitch and sound characteristics for each separate note, which means you can adapt the sound of the instrument to the acoustics of the room.
The digital extras of the HP-508

Naturally, the Roland HP-508 is equipped with all the important features you'd expect of a modern digital piano, including a metronome, various effects, the option to split the keyboard and various temperament types. It also features a practical USB connector, which enables you to record your playing in WAV or MIDI format on a USB stick, or to play along with WAV and MIDI files that are stored on a USB memory device. Playing along with your favourite tracks is also possible by means of the Air Performer app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, provided you have a separately available Roland Wireless USB Adapter at your disposal. The Piano Partner app for iPad provides children with a fun way to develop their piano skills.
