Aged for 22 months in 69% new and 31% neutral French oak. Deep garnet color to the rim of the glass. The nose is an exotic array of red fruits, fresh blackberry, dried oregano, crushed rose petals, and fir bough. Long and lithe on the palate, full-bodied with a masculine edge of tannin, and a gorgeous string of refreshing acidity. Figgins Estate Vineyard is a later-ripening site, and this wine clearly benefited from the softening rains we had late in the 2019 growing season.
