The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OEM disc and requires no modifications. It can easily be bolted onto your car and works perfectly with the original calipers. By upgrading to lightweight, high-performance replacements instead of a big brake kit, you can maintain your factory bias and ABS efficiency. Our rotor's central hat section is crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum sourced exclusively from the United States. Our proprietary cast iron is also poured and machined in-house at Girodisc, using 48 curved directional vanes that function as a centrifugal pump to effectively channel cooling air through the disc.

 

The rotor and hat feature a floating mount system, utilizing 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins made by USA-based Girodisc to our own specifications. Additionally, the pins are cadmium plated for long-lasting protection against corrosion. These pins bear the load during braking while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. They are secured with hardened washers and grade 12 cap screws. Anti-noise spring washers are also used on the rotor side to prevent noise when the rotors are cold. This allows for heat expansion without the rattle and noise that often occurs with floating rotors. Furthermore, this float mechanism helps the rotor self-center between the pads.

Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
